Just moved to Enumclaw, any tips?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm single, late 30s, and Average temperature is around 50--F, so expect cold winters.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Denver about 10 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good airport with direct flights
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are developing, gas is decent.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. No regrets on my end..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Westside for 1 years. Moved from Pittsburgh for cost of living. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is decent. We bought in 2018 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.

**Employment:**
finance is strong here. marketing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are developing for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it was the best decision I ever made. The outdoor scene is underrated - we have beaches within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Westside schools are better than expected. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Summers can be brutally hot. Property taxes are high. And community vibe can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 8/10. Good luck with whatever you decide.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Miami about 12 years ago. The main reasons were work and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are manageable, gas is excellent.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Hope this helps!.
