Anyone else feel this way? Rent is about $1,672/month for a decent place. It's a a small town city with about 12,663 people. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

I'm a sales manager and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. The community is excellent and there's always something going on.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Eastside. It's underrated for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in education. If you're in consulting you might struggle.
People: Generally tough. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like BBQ.
