Hey, The median home value here is around $685,900, which is pretty steep. Average temperature is around 50--F, so expect cold winters. Poverty rate is 2.4%, which is pretty low. Rent is about $2,775/month for a decent place. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. What would you do? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are average, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Bought a house here in 2021 and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

The food scene here is surprisingly good. Tons of great Mediterranean places. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Public transit is tough here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Eastside. It's surprisingly good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in tech. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Korean.
