Raising a family in Erie -thoughts?

With a population of 31,927, Erie is a smaller city. Average temperature is around 50--F, so expect cold winters. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Would love some local perspective. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

I've lived in Lakewood for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Strong job market in several industries
- The community vibe scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for young professionals. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've been living here for 10 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The community vibe is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..
