We're a young couple and Household incomes average around $86,750 in Erie. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. What do you all think? Looking forward to hearing from you all. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

I've lived in Eastside for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Charlotte, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- The safety scene is surprisingly good
The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Homeless population growing downtown
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. Definitely worth checking out..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Denver about 6 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good internet infrastructure
- Four distinct seasons
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are growing, gas is decent.
Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Feel free to reach out with questions..
