Working remotely from Erie — my experience

I've been working remotely from Erie for 12 years now. Here's my take:

The pace of life here is perfect for remote work. No crazy commute stress, affordable living, and enough amenities to not feel isolated.

Cost of living: pretty reasonable
Internet: Could be better but workable with a good provider
Coworking spaces: Limited but the library works in a pinch

If you're looking for a place to WFH, Erie is worth considering.

Rent tip: look for places in winter. Prices drop and there's more availability.

I've lived in Westside for 9 years and it's decent, has its pros and cons.

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. Southside and Maple Heights are perfectly safe.

My kids love it here. So many parks and activities. So many outdoor activities.

Coming from Chicago, the cost of living difference is noticeable. Groceries and gas are slightly more expensive but housing makes up for it.

If you can afford it, Maple Heights is the best place to live. Period.

Downtown is overrated and overpriced. The suburbs offer way better value.

Public transit needs work but they're investing in it. Should improve in next few years.
