Escondido quality of life — am I missing something?

First post here. The unemployment rate is 2.8%, which is pretty low. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Let me know your thoughts. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want food scene, then yeah this place is great. But if healthcare matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I've lived in Greenfield for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good schools in most areas
- The weather scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for couples. No regrets on my end..
