Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

We moved here with our family and it was the best decision I ever made. Schools in Pine Hills area are hit or miss. Kids love it here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Lakewood. It's improving for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in consulting you might struggle.
People: Generally underrated. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.
Happy to answer more specific questions..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's exactly what I was looking for. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want pet-friendliness, then yeah this place is great. But if cost of living matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Compared to New York it's pretty good.

We moved here with our family and it exceeded my expectations. Schools in Greenfield area are better than expected. Kids love it here.

Bought a house here in 2019 and the quality of life is solid. Property values have gone about the same since then.
