Random thought, I'm a remote worker and Crime rate is something to consider -Estill Springs sits at 788.2 per 100K. Median household income is $49,148, which feels on the lower side for the area. Household incomes average around $49,148 in Estill Springs. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Is this normal for Estill Springs? Thanks! There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Sunset. It's surprisingly good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in legal you might struggle.
People: Generally pretty good. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: tough. Tons of options if you like sushi.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Downtown. It's average for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in finance. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Indian.
Good luck with whatever you decide..

Used to live on the Pine Hills side, now on the Meadowbrook side. Completely different vibe. it's been a really good experience overall.

Bought a house here in 2018 and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Property values have gone down slightly since then.
