I'm a teacher here and You can expect to pay around $1,442 for rent here. Median household income is $73,000, which feels about average for the area. With a population of 7,765, Etowah is a small town. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Has anyone dealt with this? The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Miami, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Close to major attractions
- The healthcare scene is tough
The downsides:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Homeless population growing downtown
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Highland. It's surprisingly good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in government. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.
People: Generally excellent. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Thai.
Hope this helps!.

We moved here with our family and the quality of life is solid. Schools in South area are better than expected. Kids love it here.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value school system, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely hit or miss and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Westside) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from San Diego, be prepared for the culture shock. school system is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a data analyst, 37, moved here 10 years ago from Seattle. I've lived in South and Uptown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Growing food and restaurant scene
3. Good healthcare facilities
4. The people are generally excellent - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Nightlife is limited
2. Limited entertainment options
3. The healthcare situation is established and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- South: Great for retirees. surprisingly good vibes, walkable.
- Uptown: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Seattle, everything felt better than expected. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are developing. Gas is competitive. You can live comfortably on $70K-$130K here.
**Final verdict:**
Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

My experience has been mostly positive. I have mixed feelings honestly. The only thing I'd watch out for is job market. Other than that, Would recommend to anyone considering it..
