Working in Ettrick -salaries realistic?

Hi all, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and The median home value here is around $184,400, which is actually reasonable. Crime rate is something to consider -Ettrick sits at 203.3 per 100K. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Should I be concerned? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 14 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into running, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the Sunset side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
