Pros and cons of Eucalyptus Hills after 6 years

I'm a 35-year-old software engineer and You can expect to pay around $1,750 for rent here. It's a a small town city with about 5,976 people. With a population of 5,976, Eucalyptus Hills is a small town. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Good schools
- Close to nature
- Low taxes
- Good healthcare facilities

Cons:
- Sprawl everywhere
- Lack of diversity
- Boring for young people
- Homelessness issues downtown
Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The suburbs are where most families end up. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Public transit is surprisingly good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.

I've lived in Riverside for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Active local events and festivals
- The healthcare scene is improving

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for retirees. Hope this helps!.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it exceeded my expectations. Internet is underrated in most areas.

Came here for weather and stayed because it's been a really good experience overall. The safety is honestly decent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are underrated, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to New York it's surprisingly good.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Westside. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in tech. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
