Just moved here 10 months ago and Poverty rate is 5.2%, which is pretty low. What would you do?

I work in healthcare here and I love the pace of life here. The job market for my field is tough. Hope this helps!.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are hit or miss, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've been living here for 12 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The job market is solid compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..

As someone who grew up here, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cultural scene used to be much developing but now it's challenging.

I've been living here for 11 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The outdoor recreation is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

We moved here with our family and I have mixed feelings honestly. Schools in Lakewood area are solid. Kids love it here.

I've lived in Greenfield for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from LA, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Strong sense of community
- The outdoor recreation scene is pretty good
The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Can feel isolated
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for families. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've lived in Uptown for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Baltimore, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Strong job market in several industries
- The dating scene scene is underrated
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Winters are long and cold
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for singles. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The school system is genuinely hit or miss and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (East) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Charlotte, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a sales manager, 49, moved here 1 years ago from Austin. I've lived in Greenfield and Riverside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Friendly community, easy to meet people
3. Good schools in most areas
4. The people are generally better than expected - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Rising rent and home prices
2. Not very walkable outside downtown
3. The safety situation is competitive and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Greenfield: Great for retirees. surprisingly good vibes, walkable.
- Riverside: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Austin, everything felt better than expected. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is pricey. You can live comfortably on $50K-$80K here.
**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
