Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Charlotte about 9 years ago. The main reasons were work and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Four distinct seasons
- Close to major attractions
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Urban sprawl is real
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are growing, gas is tough.
