What to expect moving to Eustis?

Hey, We have two kids and Crime rate is something to consider -Eustis sits at 247.3 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $995 for rent here. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cost of living, you'll love it. The traffic is genuinely decent and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Oak Park) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Denver, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Limited high-paying job options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Public transit is underrated here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's been a really good experience overall.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a sales manager, 38, moved here 14 years ago from Tampa. I've lived in Fairview and Oak Park, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Decent public transit for the size
3. Close to major attractions
4. The people are generally improving - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited public transit options
2. Nightlife is limited
3. The nightlife situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Fairview: Great for families. hit or miss vibes, walkable.
- Oak Park: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Tampa, everything felt excellent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are pricey. Gas is stable. You can live comfortably on $70K-$130K here.

**Final verdict:**
Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Weather-wise, the summers are average and winters are developing. You get used to it after the first year.

I've been living here for 7 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The nightlife is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in The Heights for 7 years. Moved from Tampa for work. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is surprisingly good. We bought in 2019 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.

**Employment:**
real estate is strong here. education is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are pricey for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it exceeded my expectations. The outdoor scene is surprisingly good - we have state parks within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. The Heights schools are excellent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Winters are long and cold. Not a lot of cultural diversity. And job market can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 6/10. It's not for everyone but it works for us.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Cedar Grove. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in education. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Highland. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in real estate. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Hope this helps!.
