Is Evans walkable?

Hi all, The unemployment rate is 2.7%, which is pretty low. It's a a smaller city city with about 37,718 people. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Am I wrong here? The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development.

I'm a lawyer and I've found it exceeded my expectations. The community is average and there's always something going on.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a social worker who relocated here from Houston about 14 years ago. The main reasons were school and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Lots of new development happening
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are reasonable, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I've lived in Fairview for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Four distinct seasons
- The job market scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for couples. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want traffic, then yeah this place is great. But if job market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
