Hello, I'm a 53-year-old software engineer and Homes are going for about $256,900 on average. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Does this match your experience? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from San Diego about 11 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Homeless population growing downtown
- Limited entertainment options
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are reasonable, gas is solid.
Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Hope this helps!.

Hot take but it's not perfect but it works for me. I know a lot of people disagree but after 15 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want weather, then yeah this place is great. But if food scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
