Housing market in Everett right now

I'm a 50-year-old real estate agent and The median home value here is around $605,200, which is pretty steep. Average temperature is around 52--F, so expect cold winters. Median household income is $79,658, which feels about average for the area. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up. Does this match your experience? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely improving and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (The Heights) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Pittsburgh, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from San Diego about 4 years ago. The main reasons were weather and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good airport with direct flights
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are established, gas is pretty good.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
