Cheapest neighborhoods in Everett?

Curious what people think. My partner and I are Household incomes average around $81,502 in Everett. With a population of 111K, Everett is a mid-size city. The median home value here is around $532,300, which is pretty steep. Homes are going for about $532,300 on average. Rent is about $1,675/month for a decent place. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Good job market
- Friendly people
- Lots of new development
- Active local events

Cons:
- Lack of diversity
- Mosquitoes and humidity
- Homelessness issues downtown
What would you do? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value dating scene, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely improving and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. My neighborhood (Maple Ridge) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Nashville, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Bugs and humidity in summer.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I have mixed feelings honestly. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
