Everett is underrated, change my mind

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a 39-year-old teacher and Poverty rate is 8.8%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 51--F, so expect cold winters. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Anyone in a similar situation? Thanks for reading. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value dating scene, you'll love it. The traffic is genuinely solid and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Oak Park) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Tampa, be prepared for the culture shock. dating scene is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Bought a house here in 2015 and it's exactly what I was looking for. Property values have gone up a bit since then.
