Job hunting in Excelsior Springs -tips?

Hello, We have two kids and Poverty rate is 9.2%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Excelsior Springs sits at 128.0 per 100K. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. What do you all think?

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Austin about 2 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good airport with direct flights
- Diverse dining options
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are established, gas is solid.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Hope this helps!.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Dallas about 2 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good healthcare facilities
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are pricey, gas is tough.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Definitely worth checking out..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 6 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into running, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Eastside side vs the Highland side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Atlanta about 12 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good healthcare facilities
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are affordable, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Compared to Seattle it's pretty good.

I'm a accountant and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. The community is average and there's always something going on.
