Job market in Fair Oaks for tech?

Random thought, I'm retired and You can expect to pay around $2,242 for rent here. It's a a smaller city city with about 35,472 people. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Thoughts? TIA! The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is food scene. it exceeded my expectations. Worth doing your research before committing.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Boston about 10 years ago. The main reasons were weather and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good healthcare facilities
- Decent public transit for the size

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are established, gas is pretty good.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Good luck with whatever you decide..
