The good and bad of living in Fairbanks

Longtime lurker here, Born and raised here. The unemployment rate is 3.0%, which is pretty low. Poverty rate is 5.2%, which is pretty low. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Thanks for reading. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I love the pace of life here. Compared to San Francisco it's improving.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want dating scene, then yeah this place is great. But if pet-friendliness matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
