Hi all, I'm a 38-year-old sales rep and With a population of 34,506, Fairborn is a smaller city. Median household income is $55,966, which feels about average for the area. The city has invested a lot in new development. Worth the trade-offs? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a accountant who relocated here from LA about 9 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Strong job market in several industries
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are stable, gas is tough.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Active local events and festivals
- The pet-friendliness scene is challenging
The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Dating scene is rough
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. Hope this helps!.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I love the pace of life here. Compared to Chicago it's solid.
