Longtime lurker here, I relocated for work and The median home value here is around $249,200, which is actually reasonable. With a population of 16,609, Fairburn is a small town. The suburbs are where most families end up. Am I wrong here? Cheers.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from San Francisco, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Four distinct seasons
- The traffic scene is pretty good
The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to Boston it's average.
