Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value community vibe, you'll love it. The safety is genuinely solid and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Springfield) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Pittsburgh, be prepared for the culture shock. safety is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Moved here from Portland about 1 years ago. I genuinely enjoy living here. Still getting used to walkability but It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've been living here for 2 years and I'd say it's been a really good experience overall. The healthcare is average compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it exceeded my expectations. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's not perfect but it works for me. Internet is better than expected in most areas.

If you value job market, you'll love it. The school system is genuinely tough and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (East) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Dallas, be prepared for the culture shock. safety is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Nashville about 6 years ago. The main reasons were weather and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good healthcare facilities
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are pricey, gas is better than expected.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

We moved here with our family and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Schools in Cedar Grove area are better than expected. Kids love it here.

As someone who grew up here, I love the pace of life here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. public transit used to be much stable but now it's underrated.
