Fairfield quality of life — am I missing something?

I'm a nurse at the local hospital and It's a a mid-size city city with about 120K people. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

My experience has been mostly positive. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The only thing I'd watch out for is job market. Other than that, Feel free to reach out with questions..

Public transit is improving here. You'll probably need a car for most things. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely improving and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (South) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Chicago, be prepared for the culture shock. school system is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
