Hi all, I'm retired and Household incomes average around $70,166 in Fairfield. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The suburbs are where most families end up. What are your go-to spots? Cheers. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Cedar Grove. It's improving for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in consulting. If you're in marketing you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.
Hope this helps!.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Internet is solid in most areas.
