The city has invested a lot in new development. Does this match your experience?

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Meadowbrook. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in marketing. If you're in education you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value school system, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely underrated and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Baltimore, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Limited shopping options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 5 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Old Town. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in marketing. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
