Hello, The unemployment rate is 2.0%, which is pretty low. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is school system. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.

My experience has been mostly positive. I have mixed feelings honestly. The only thing I'd watch out for is traffic. Other than that, Feel free to reach out with questions..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are underrated, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've lived in West for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Good internet infrastructure
- The school system scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Urban sprawl is real

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for families. Definitely worth checking out..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Uptown. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in retail. If you're in education you might struggle.

People: Generally pretty good. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like sushi.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Hot take but I love the pace of life here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 12 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 10 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The The Heights side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Compared to Nashville it's tough.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a contractor, 38, moved here 10 years ago from Dallas. I've lived in Maple Ridge and Uptown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good internet infrastructure
2. Active local events and festivals
3. Good airport with direct flights
4. The people are generally tough - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Not very walkable outside downtown
2. Dating scene is rough
3. The cost of living situation is growing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Maple Ridge: Great for remote workers. surprisingly good vibes, walkable.
- Uptown: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Dallas, everything felt surprisingly good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are pricey. Gas is established. You can live comfortably on $80K-$100K here.

**Final verdict:**
Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
