Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 14 years ago. The main reasons were work and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are established, gas is improving.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Hope this helps!.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 12 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Maple Ridge side vs the Eastside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The pet-friendliness is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
