Honest thoughts on life in Fairview Heights

Hey folks, I'm a college student here and Rent is about $1,177/month for a decent place. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. What do you all think? The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

As someone who grew up here, it's exactly what I was looking for. A lot has changed in the past few years though. community vibe used to be much pricey but now it's solid.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are better than expected, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
