Remote worker thinking about Fairview Park

My family moved here when I was a kid. The unemployment rate is 2.8%, which is pretty low. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. What do you all think? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Raleigh about 14 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited public transit options

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are developing, gas is decent.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Good luck with whatever you decide..
