First time home buyer in Fairview

Hey everyone, Just moved here 17 months ago and You can expect to pay around $1,875 for rent here. With a population of 10,570, Fairview is a small town. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Any advice would be great.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 4 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

Bought a house here in 2019 and it's not perfect but it works for me. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

I've lived in Old Town for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good schools in most areas
- The outdoor recreation scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Property taxes are high

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for retirees. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

My experience has been mostly positive. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The only thing I'd watch out for is nightlife. Other than that, Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've lived in West for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Active local events and festivals
- The nightlife scene is decent

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Property taxes are high

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want housing market, then yeah this place is great. But if healthcare matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
