Life in Fajardo zona urbana as a young professional
Hi all, We're a young couple and The unemployment rate is 10.2%, which is concerning. Household incomes average around $24,305 in Fajardo zona urbana. Crime rate is something to consider -Fajardo zona urbana sits at 2,771.8 per 100K. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Boston and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in West. It's hit or miss for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in finance. If you're in finance you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.
Definitely worth checking out..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cultural scene, then yeah this place is great. But if cost of living matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

We moved here with our family and it exceeded my expectations. Schools in Midtown area are improving. Kids love it here.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to San Francisco it's underrated.
