Should I move to Fajardo zona urbana or stay in Los Angeles?
Alright, Poverty rate is 43.0%, which is higher than I expected. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Should I be concerned? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Weather-wise, the summers are decent and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value community vibe, you'll love it. The walkability is genuinely improving and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Fairview) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from San Diego, be prepared for the culture shock. walkability is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've been living here for 11 years and I'd say it's improved dramatically in recent years. The weather is excellent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..

As someone who grew up here, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. A lot has changed in the past few years though. healthcare used to be much established but now it's pretty good.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.
I've been here 4 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is improving.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Uptown side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
No regrets on my end..

I've lived in Uptown for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good schools in most areas
- The cost of living scene is underrated
The downsides:
- Can feel isolated
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for families. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is healthcare. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.
