Is Falls Church still affordable?

Alright, Been living here since 2017. With a population of 14,593, Falls Church is a small town. Poverty rate is 2.3%, which is pretty low. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in The Heights. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in retail. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Indian.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say I have mixed feelings honestly. The job market is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
