Hi all, I'm single, late 30s, and It's a a mid-size city city with about 129K people. Household incomes average around $66,029 in Fargo. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Should I be concerned? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Came here for cost of living and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The food scene is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cultural scene, then yeah this place is great. But if weather matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I've lived in Downtown for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Four distinct seasons
- The food scene scene is solid
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for young professionals. Definitely worth checking out..

I've been here 8 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is excellent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
