Is Fargo still affordable?

OK so You can expect to pay around $916 for rent here. Crime rate is something to consider — Fargo sits at 450.5 per 100K. With a population of 129K, Fargo is a mid-size city. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Pros:
- Good job market
- Low crime in most areas
- Close to nature
- Plenty of shopping options

Cons:
- Boring for young people
- Mosquitoes and humidity
- Limited cultural events
- Chain restaurants dominate

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I have mixed feelings honestly. Internet is excellent in most areas.

Bought a house here in 2021 and I love the pace of life here. Property values have gone down slightly since then.
