Rent in Fargo getting crazy

Random thought, The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I genuinely enjoy living here. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Used to live on the Midtown side, now on the Westside side. Completely different vibe. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Internet is improving in most areas.

Public transit is surprisingly good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. the quality of life is solid.

I'm a accountant and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. The community is hit or miss and there's always something going on.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 8 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Bought a house here in 2019 and I genuinely enjoy living here. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in West for 6 years. Moved from Salt Lake City for quality of life. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is surprisingly good. We bought in 2017 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
education is strong here. construction is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are stable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The outdoor scene is tough - we have rivers within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. West schools are solid. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Winters are long and cold. Limited shopping options. And nightlife can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 7/10. Good luck with whatever you decide.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I've lived in Springfield for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Miami, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Diverse dining options
- The job market scene is decent

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for families. Happy to answer more specific questions..
