Unpopular opinion about Fargo

Hey everyone, I'm a 42-year-old HR manager and The median home value here is around $269,800, which seems about average. Median household income is $66,029, which feels about average for the area. It's a a mid-size city city with about 129K people. Household incomes average around $66,029 in Fargo. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. What would you do? The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Weather-wise, the summers are surprisingly good and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.

I work in healthcare here and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The job market for my field is better than expected. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Riverside. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in retail. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
