Best neighborhoods to rent in Farmington Hills?

Random thought, You can expect to pay around $1,475 for rent here. Crime rate is something to consider -Farmington Hills sits at 107.1 per 100K. Poverty rate is 4.3%, which is pretty low. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Low crime in most areas
- Low taxes
- Plenty of shopping options

Cons:
- Sprawl everywhere
- Lack of diversity
- Chain restaurants dominate
The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 5 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are established, gas is challenging.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
