Been meaning to ask this. I work in legal and It's a a small town city with about 17,999 people. You can expect to pay around $856 for rent here. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Should I be concerned?

I work in government here and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The job market for my field is excellent. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's been a really good experience overall. Internet is solid in most areas.

Hot take but the quality of life is solid. I know a lot of people disagree but after 13 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is outdoor recreation. I genuinely enjoy living here. Worth doing your research before committing.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a lawyer who relocated here from San Francisco about 2 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Affordable housing options
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Road conditions need improvement
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are pricey, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
