Hi all, I'm a teacher here and Median household income is $63,745, which feels about average for the area. Homes are going for about $225,400 on average. The unemployment rate is 3.2%, which is pretty low. With a population of 46,339, Farmington is a smaller city. The suburbs are where most families end up. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Looking forward to hearing from you all. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want food scene, then yeah this place is great. But if job market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Came here for retirement and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The weather is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I work in hospitality here and it's not perfect but it works for me. The job market for my field is excellent. No regrets on my end..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a electrician who relocated here from Austin about 6 years ago. The main reasons were family and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Four distinct seasons
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Urban sprawl is real
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are wild, gas is excellent.
Socially, the quality of life is solid. Good luck with whatever you decide..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are decent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Weather-wise, the summers are pretty good and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.
