Farmville quality of life -am I missing something?

Curious what people think. Average temperature is around 57--F, so the weather is moderate. Median household income is $40,282, which feels on the lower side for the area. The unemployment rate is 1.3%, which is pretty low. The median home value here is around $223,700, which is actually reasonable. The weather takes some getting used to. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Thoughts? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a teacher who relocated here from Miami about 4 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Affordable housing options
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are established, gas is solid.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Weather-wise, the summers are improving and winters are developing. You get used to it after the first year.
