Random thought, I'm a college student here and With a population of 20,757, Fate is a small town. It's a a small town city with about 20,757 people. The weather takes some getting used to. Let me know your thoughts. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.
I've been here 14 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is tough.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Raleigh about 12 years ago. The main reasons were work and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Active local events and festivals
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are reasonable, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Happy to answer more specific questions..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Internet is average in most areas.
