Thinking about relocating to Fayette from Phoenix

Longtime lurker here, We're a young couple and Rent is about $589/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 63--F, so the weather is moderate. Poverty rate is 27.3%, which is higher than I expected. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.
