What surprised you most about Fayette?

Hello, My family moved here when I was a kid. Household incomes average around $47,500 in Fayette. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. Am I overthinking this?

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I have mixed feelings honestly.

Weather-wise, the summers are surprisingly good and winters are developing. You get used to it after the first year.

I work in tech here and it's been a really good experience overall. The job market for my field is better than expected. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've lived in West for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Lots of new development happening
- The pet-friendliness scene is tough

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for remote workers. No regrets on my end..
