Best hidden gems in Fayetteville

Hey everyone, Military spouse here. Median household income is $59,074, which feels about average for the area. With a population of 97,227, Fayetteville is a smaller city. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Seattle about 12 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are affordable, gas is challenging.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Definitely worth checking out..
