Housing in Fayetteville compared to San Diego

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Been living here since 2018. Homes are going for about $322,500 on average. Median household income is $59,074, which feels about average for the area. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The suburbs are where most families end up. Let me know your thoughts. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want safety, then yeah this place is great. But if community vibe matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. the quality of life is solid. Internet is tough in most areas.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in East for 6 years. Moved from Seattle for school. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is tough. We bought in 2015 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.

**Employment:**
manufacturing is strong here. construction is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are growing for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's improved dramatically in recent years. The outdoor scene is challenging - we have rivers within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. East schools are solid. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Summers can be brutally hot. Far from beaches/mountains. And nightlife can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 6/10. Hope this helps!. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I've been in Sunset for 3 years. Moved from Chicago for cost of living. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is underrated. We bought in 2017 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.

**Employment:**
legal is strong here. engineering is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are wild for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The outdoor scene is tough - we have rivers within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Sunset schools are decent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Traffic during rush hour is rough. Not a lot of cultural diversity. And weather can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 5/10. Definitely worth checking out.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Meadowbrook. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in tech. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a writer who relocated here from Atlanta about 2 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Diverse dining options
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are competitive, gas is better than expected.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've been in Uptown for 6 years. Moved from San Diego for cost of living. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is solid. We bought in 2019 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.

**Employment:**
legal is strong here. marketing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are reasonable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
the quality of life is solid. The outdoor scene is excellent - we have state parks within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Uptown schools are improving. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Urban sprawl is real. Not a lot of cultural diversity. And walkability can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
